A Guide to St. Peter’s Pool

On a hunt for the most beautiful locations in the country, I boarded a bus from Sliema that took me east towards the fishing village of Marsaxlokk and the renowned St. Peter's Pool. Arriving by bus takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes, as well as an additional 30 minutes of walking each way from the bus stop (~2km), so it's not surprising that this spot is significantly less busy than some of the more easily reachable neighbouring places. There is paid parking at the site as well for those with their own wheels.

Otherwise, visiting St. Peter's Pool is free and if you decide to make the trek, it's well worth it. A natural pool is tucked into a horseshoe-shaped cave, perfectly safe for swimming, bordered on three sides by protective limestone.

Come early, bring plenty of sunscreen (there's absolutely no shade to be found) and enjoy a refreshing dip in the turquoise waters!
