Pissouri village is located on the southern coast of Cyprus between Limassol and Paphos. The village is perched on the Cape Aspro ridge has a big square in the heart with many taverns, cafes, churches and access to the beautiful local beach. Predominantly an agricultural village, growing grapes for wine, fruits and olives are at the heart of many locals' way of life.
The central church in Pissouri is the Church of Apostle Andrea, built in 1883 by locals who used Cypriot donkeys to bring the stone up from neighbouring Anogyra and Prasteio.
The village is a lovely place to wander for an afternoon and enjoy the laid-back Cypriot way of life. The main highlight for me was driving down to Pissouri Beach where many luxury hotels are peacefully tucked away into the hills around the beach offering a unique and special escape.
