
The hike up to the peak of Black Mountain is a short and beautiful one.
The trail head is at the Cypress Bowl parking lot, a 15km drive up Cypress Mountain off the Sea-to-Sky Highway. At the end of the hike, your steep climb is rewarded with lovely views from the peak of Black Mountain, as well as the opportunity to jump into Cabin Lake for a cool-down dip!
CABIN LAKE HIKE DETAILS
When: July to October, due to snow on the top of the mountain during ski season
Where: starts at the top of Cypress Mountain
Difficulty: intermediate
Length: half an hour each way for the 2.5km round-trip hike
Directions: from the Cypress Mountain ski parking lot, follow the Baden Powell trail with signs to Black Mountain. Follow the trail at the top junction to the right to stay on the boardwalks, leading directly to Cabin Lake.
