May is the month of public holidays in Europe, coinciding with the beginning of summer and all these extra special little days to be outside and enjoy it even more.
Two of my best friends, along with their pup Nacho, invited me out to Mondsee for the day. Mondsee is an 11km long lake, part of the Salzkammergut, near Attersee, which I visited last summer. Some of their friends rent a lakeside private access spot, however the beauty of Mondsee - as with most lakes around here - is that there are so many perfect spots to pull over all around the lake as you drive along.
Mondsee is about twenty-five to thirty minutes away from Salzburg by car, depending on where you stop. You can also take bus 140 from Salzburg Hauptbahnhof directly to the village of Mondsee in under an hour!

As much as I adore being behind the lens, it’s those friends who grab my camera from me and tell me to sit on certain benches or run down the dock towards the lake or to brush my hair to one shoulder who I think I adore even more. If you’ve ever hung out with me, there’s a 99.9% chance I’ve asked you to either be in or take a photo (or 10). If it could be, I think I’d make photography another one of my love languages: documenting the world, twirling around in front of it, editing it, sharing it…
I often tell people that a day, event or trip isn’t over for me until the photos are edited and the blog post is published. Half the fun is reliving those moments of delicious joy, giggling around a camera capturing blissful snippets of life. I hope the photos below encapsulate some of that feeling:
