Skiing is something I've been falling more and more in love with, thanks mostly due to my boyfriend Sam, an ex-high level ski athlete. We've skiied a number of mountains while we've been together - from Lake Louise to Whistler, Nakiska to Grouse - and while he was home for reading week, we tried out the night-skiing at Grouse Mountain.
While the hills are not as long as larger resorts such as Whistler, there is something magical about rushing headlong down the mountainside in pitch darkness, the only light from the snow reflecting the overhead sideline lamps. Night-skiing comes at a discounted rate of just $49 per adult allowing you to ski as much as you want from 4-10pm.
My favourite part was the Light Walk at the peak of Grouse, a gorgeous trail through the snow lit up by thousands of sparkling twinkle lights. The Light Walk is free, and I recommend snowboots or snowshoes to tackle the sometimes steep sections.
