Aptly named, Sunset Beach is a local gem in Vancouver that is famous for some of the most incredible views of sunset. Catch golden hour here from the Burrard Street Bridge overlooking the beachfront, then head down the steps and wander along the Seawall. Typically full of bikers, roller-bladers and people out for an evening stroll, this small stretch of sand just south of English Bay is a must-see in Vancouver.
The always-busy patio at Cactus Club English Bay boasts some of the best restaurant views in the city, sitting right on the sand. A number of hot dog and ice cream carts are parked in and among the beachgoers. The tall trees of Stanley Park rise in the distance, nestled against the backdrop of the gorgeous north shore mountains. Just past the Burrard Bridge you can spot the bustling Granville Island, and the tiny aquabuses ferrying passengers around False Creek. In July, the Honda Celebration of Lights brings three nights of fireworks along with thousands of spectators to this sheltered inlet. This place is Vancouverite heaven.
