Day Trip to Kaputaş Beach

The turquoise coast of Türkiye is breathtaking. Exquisite white sandy beaches, little islands dotted along the coast, idyllic seaside towns and the majestic southern mountains make this area a popular and stunning region to visit.

We based ourselves in Kaş for two nights and three days, enabling us to explore much of what this little town and the surrounding area had to offer – which was a lot. We loved the vibe here, and the photogenic backdrops of everywhere we visit only enhanced that feeling.

Perhaps the most famous beach along this entire turquoise coast is Kaputaş Beach, one that has soared in popularity thanks to the stunning view over the beach from a perfectly placed rock above. We visited in the shoulder season in October and it was busy but not overwhelmingly packed; you may find this to be a different scenario in peak season!

The water is deliciously warm and it’s a treat to swim in the clear blue of the Mediterranean Sea.

HOW TO GET TO Kaputaş BEACH

The minibuses (dolmuş) run regularly from the Kaş Ortogar for 20 lira per person. The trip takes about half an hour. Let the driver know you’re going to Kaputaş Beach, and you’ll get dropped off right at the top of the stairs.

In October, the last bus back was at 8:00pm; make sure you confirm this with the driver so you can get back home safely!

WHERE TO FIND THE FAMOUS VIEW OVER Kaputaş BEACH

The famous view is super accessible; before you head down the stairs to the beach, walk a little bit back along the road. A sandy cliff juts out just beyond the road barrier where two rocks offer prime photographing spots. Be extremely careful stepping beyond the barrier as there is no protection between the rocks and the beach and sea far below.
