This tower was the perfect morning hike above Révfülöp. Offering panoramic views across the lake, you hike up to the tower and then you can climb the round stairs inside for free to the top.
You can hike this as a loop - which is what I did - following the red and white signs which makes for quite a long, but very flat and easy route. Or you can do a there-and-back if you just do the short route. Details below:
Fülöp-hegyi Millenniumi kilátó HIKE DETAILS
When: year-round
Where: just behind Révfülöp at Lake Balaton
Difficulty: easy
Length: because I did it as a loop which included the long route option, I hiked for about an hour and ten minutes including walking up to the top of the tower. My Strava says I hiked 5.5km.
Directions: from Révfülöp, you can walk straight up to the hike. You can also park here, if coming by car, but it's a bit of a tight drive and the roads aren't great, so I really recommend just walking from town. The long route basically follows the painted white and red signs to the left in a big lazy loop ending up at the top of the tower. The short route is a steep set of stairs. You can hike it as a loop (long route up, short route down) or you can do the long or short route both ways. Check out my Strava activity for my exact route - I did the long route up and short route down.
Bathrooms: no
Public Transit: you can arrive by bus or train if staying outside Révfülöp but within town you don't need public transport as you can walk straight up to this hike
