I spent a weekend at Lake Balaton in western Hungary, one of the most beautiful regions in the country.

One morning, I wanted to get moving and found this fun hike to a tower above Révfülöp. Offering panoramic views across the lake, you hike up to the tower where you can climb the round stairs inside for free to the top.
There are two ways to hike to the tower: as a loop (what I did) or there-and-back. The loop is quite a bit longer but flatter and easier.
When: year-round
Where: just behind Révfülöp at Lake Balaton
Difficulty: easy
Length: because I did it as a loop which is longer than the there-and-back option, I hiked for about an hour and ten minutes including walking up to the top of the tower. My Strava says I hiked 5.5km.
Directions: from Révfülöp, you can walk straight up to the hike. You can also park here if coming by car, but it's a bit of a tight drive and the roads aren't great, so I really recommend just walking from town. The long route follows the painted white and red signs to the left in a big loop ending up at the top of the tower. The short route is a steep set of stairs. You can hike it as a loop (long route up, short route down) or you can do the long or short route both ways.

Bathrooms: no
Public Transit: you can arrive by bus or train if staying outside Révfülöp but within town you don't need public transport as you can walk straight up to this hike

The long route is clearly marked with white and red painted signs
