With lakes and natural beauty abound and a country that loves to be outdoors and exercising, it might come as no surprise that Austria is home to some seriously gorgeous tennis courts.

I was born in London and spent the first year of my life living in Wimbledon, so I've always joked that being good at tennis should somehow be in my blood. In reality, I played it for a year in middle school in Canada and then didn't do it again for many years. But, with so many beautiful opportunities in my current home of Austria, last summer I decided it was something I wanted to pick up again.
Now, it's a fun afternoon activity that my partner and I have been enjoying, getting outside in the sunshine, playing and learning something new together. So, here is to continuing to learn at all ages and discovering Austria's most beautiful spots to play!
All the courts we have been to in Austria so far offer hourly drop-in rentals of the courts, no memberships required. We brought our own rackets and tennis balls, which we purchased at Hervis. Of course, if you have a particular favourite court, you can join their tennis club.
