Sam and I arrived at the peak of Cypress Bowl Road just before 6pm to tackle the gorgeous Cabin Lake hike, a quick 45-minute scramble up the side of Cypress Mountain. We were greeted with cool water for a brief swim, which was cut short by a massive crow digging around inside my backpack!
From Cabin Lake we continued on for about an hour to Eagle Bluffs where we caught the beginning of sunset setting over what I believe to be the best panoramic view of the city.
The same route back down the mountain to the ski parking lot offered unreal views of the setting sun from the peak of Black Mountain, and in the reflection of Cabin Lake. 11/10 would recommend watching a sunset from a mountain!
