bridal veil falls hike

We spent Mother’s Day driving the little winding back roads of Abbotsford and Chilliwack, to reach the beautiful Bridal Veil Falls. I’ve wanted to see these waterfalls since I first discovered them on Instagram last summer, but they’re quite a ways out of the city.

The hike up to the falls isn’t really a hike, but more of a ten minute walk up hill; however, falls are stunning. They truly look like a cascading veil of water crashing over the mountain. The best time to go would be late spring and early summer, a bit after the first glacial melt so that the falls are pronounced, not just a constant gush of water, and before the heat and droughts of BC summer sets in!

We were also privy to a stunning sunset as we drove home along Highway 1 and I managed to capture some shots as we drove along at dusk.
