hike: rainbow lake

While on our Whistler roadtrip, we took on the beautiful trail up to Rainbow Lake.

The bridge is shut for the winter season to the lake, so we didn’t reach the endpoint (even though there is apparently a way to cross the river about 100 feet to the left of the bridge!!).

The trail leads up from the parking lot just past Rainbow Park at Alta Lake over the first bridge through the snowy trees.

Our hike continued up the mountain in search of Rainbow Lake. Fun fact: we didn’t see a single rainbow. We left the snowy winter wonderland of a forest behind and found ourselves completely surrounded on all sides by snowy mountain sides, perfect for a Sasquatch to hide.

P.S. If you ever do this hike in the snow, trail-running back down is incredibly fun.
