university of british columbia: polar bear swim

For some ridiculous reason, in below-zero temperatures, some friends and I decided that it would be a good idea to join in on our university’s 2nd Annual Polar Bear Swim.

Essentially, a couple thousand UBC students make their way down the couple hundred wooden steps to our campus’ very own Wreck Beach and run into the freezing cold Pacific Ocean in weather inappropriate clothing as a way to symbolize the official end of the semester and the start of a really not enjoyable few weeks of exam prep. So basically we’re crazy.
